Social distancing and isolation are the story of our lives right now. I know we are all trying to make the best of it and connect with each other in new ways, even as we anxiously watch the death toll climb. We just want this to end as soon as possible. But there is also something very positive happening right now. Mother Nature is recovering quickly in the absence of humans. Beaches are pristine, waters are clearing all over the world, the skies are blue in places where air pollution has been the norm for as long as we can remember, birds and other wildlife are reappearing in places where they haven’t been seen for decades. Remarkable! When this is over—for all those that survive—the mandate of overcoming the ravages of climate change needs to come to the forefront. The damage we have done to our environment over time due to massive greed and selfishness can be halted and healed. The earth has already started to heal.
We are also seeing that world leaders can move to effect change quickly and efficiently. They can easily lead the charge in renewing the earth. As humans we have fully created the world we live in. We have been dealt a huge blow but surely the lesson here is that we are capable of recreating our world as new and better place.
Well said. This is a re birthing.

I heard a quote that resonated with me today (unknown source) – “Sometimes our greatest hopes are destroyed to prepare us for the future.” I wonder what the future does hold . . .
